Another Saturday, another victory for the sham men’s 1’s
Hailsham started strong, scoring within a few minutes with Rahm pouncing on a loose ball in the opposition D. There was a lot to be admired about the reverse for those who struggle with the art.
Hailshams second came soon after, good work down the right hand side to find Rahm who scored with the slowest push pass of the game. It was Sunday before this ball went in off the post. Nevertheless, slotted home to make it 2-0.
Brighton battled hard to get the score back to level, dispossessing Hailsham in their defensive half for both goals.
Hailsham then regained the lead with a nice goal from Baldwin? Don’t hold me to it. But think Headey passed him the ball from the top of the D from a short corner, which was redirected nicely into the Brighton goal.
Hailsham went in at half time 3-2 up. After a dodgy start to the second half, Hailsham extended their lead to with a goal from Gurr. He looked like Bambi on ice when he received the ball. 4-2
Somewhere along the way someone deflected the ball onto a Brighton players eyebrow resulting in an injury. The Hailsham player is subsequently writing this match report. Deserved punishment. Hope the Brighton player gets well soon!
Hailsham made it 5-2 with a neat short corner routine. Humber finding speedy Antonia on the right post who slotted home.
Another short corner routine found Humber again at the top of the D. In trying to find Antonia on the right post again he cleverly deflected the ball off an opposition players stick into the top bins. Some people will say he didn’t mean it. Those people are completely right.
Hailsham saw out the game comfortably from here and take the 3 points. Until next time.
