Respect the spirit of fair play in hockey. This is more than playing within the rules. It also incorporates the concepts of friendship, respect for others and always participating with the right spirit. Accepting decisions made by those in official roles such as coaches, captains and umpires.
Play by the rules
Respect umpires and officials decisions without argument.
Take individual responsibility
Take personal responsibility for conduct, ensure that they are suitably insured for their activities and they have paid subscriptions and fees as determined by the club in a timely manner.
Control their temper and act with dignity at all times
Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, with dignity. Set a positive example for others, particularly young participants and spectators. Never use inappropriate language or gestures nor language deemed as sexist, abusive, racist or prejudicial.
Speak out about concerning matters
Players should speak out and bring to the attention of officials any issue past or present that may result in the harm of its fellow members.
Conduct themselves in a manner that takes all reasonable measures to protect their own safety and the safety of others.
Never participate when under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Providing a smoke free environment for players and spectators.
Remembering that the aim of the game is to have fun
